Nike Air Max 1 Supreme Atmos Animal Pack
Tokyo based store Atmos is known for their flamboyant animal inspired sneaker collaborations with NIKE. But this matchless pair even stands out from their others. The hairy upper features five different animal prints: Tiger, Leopard, Zebra, Horse and Pig. On paper this might seem too much and hard to combine all prints in one shoe, but the guys from Japan outdid themselves and the result is just something different and unique like never seen before. A toxic green Air bubble that matches the heel stiching and a red suede Swoosh giving this classic masterpiece the final touch. The double release including another sweet Air Max 95 took place on December 23rd of 2006 as almost Atmos exclusive, just a few selcted US stores did get them as well. Rumors say that there were less than 5000 pairs made.
Asics x Undefeated False Flag Gel Lyte V
In the world of warfare, ruse de guerre or “False Flag” operations describe those covert military and paramilitary missions that are carried out in such a way that it seems as if they are being executed by entities or nations other than those who are truly responsible. With this theme in mind Undefeated teamed up with Asics for the last Gel Lyte V collaboration of 2014. Draped in black nubuck with a speckled grey midsole, this release is punctuated by a military orange leather heel cap while the insoles have been decorated with a motif inspired by that of vintage military zonal maps and coordinates. In this case, modified with subtle UNDFTD branding. The woven reflective laces weren’t really my cup of tea so i replaced them with plain black ones.
Much respect to the Undefeated team for an outstanding collab that ranks itself amongst the top three of 2014s Gel Lyte V’s in my opinion.

Solebox x Diadora N9000 “Ferro” plus 24 Kilates x Diadora and Mita x Asics release at Solebox Berlin
For the first time in their young collaboration history, the Italian brand Diadora teamed up with a German store. For this they picked the most established and well known store that the country has to offer: Solebox from Berlin.
Of course I didn’t want to miss this special release so I took two of my Hamburg fellas and camped out for the Solebox x Diadora N9000 Ferro.
When we arrived at 3am Friday night the line was already 40 people deep which was no problem because there were 200 pairs for the instore release. We had a really great time in Berlin and had the pleasure to meet some new cool fellas. Recently Solebox reopened their store at a new building but on the same street and only two house numbers away from their old spot. The shop’s new look and design couldn’t be any better. Huge thanks to the Solebox team and everybody involved for the smooth release!
Solemart Berlin 2015
So the sneaker convention season 2015 just had started. First stop: the Solemart in Berlin. Just in time for the Fashion Week madness, different shops, collectors and resellers from all over Europe met in the Capital to trade, buy, sell and do whatever let the sneakerheads’ hearts beat a bit faster. The location changed to the area where the Solemart 2013 took place. This time it was not the smart center, but the building across the street, the main sales and showroom of Mercedes Benz at the Salzufer in the heart of Berlin. The building was gigantic with the sickest Mercedes cars from old-timers to the newest high class rides. The venue was very unusual for a sneaker convention, but it still spread a nice and friendly atmosphere.
Shops like Solebox, Titelhelden, Overkill, Run Colors and HHV had the people covered with the recent drops of mostly general releases and the well known resellers like Prime brought the limiteds with them. Brands like Kswiss, Diadora, Adidas, Reebok, Hummel and Crepe Protect had their own exhibition areas where you could have a closer look on what each brand currently has to offer. My highlight of the exhibition was a nice Staple Design buildup that showed the newest fashion and of course the classic sneakers like the legendary Pigeon Dunks and the New Balance 575s of the brand from the New Yorker Streetwear heavyweight Jeff Staple. I’m still upset about missing his spoken words about Streetwear and sneaker culture, but I had a three hour drive back to Hamburg in front of me. Anyways, it was a pleasure to attend a special event like the Solemart Berlin and I’m full of anticipation about what this years upcoming conventions will bring us.
Asics x Woei Cervidae Gel Lyte III
This is the result of a collaboration between Asics and the Rotterdam based shop Woei and it might be the best Gel Lyte III that has ever left the Asics factory to date. I know at the end of the day it’s all a matter of taste but for me this outdoor inspired shoe provides everything you need on an outstanding collab. The Materials are one of the best I’ve ever seen on an Asics shoe and together with the sick details like the heel prints, the 3M, the crossed stitching on the toebox and of course the golden trial hooks the Asics Woei Cervidae is a masterpiece that couldn’t have been better executed. They were released on the 23rd of June in 2012 as a part of Woei’s 5 year anniversary celebration and came with special boxes and t shirt for the first 100 customers. One week later was the global release at selected retailers.
Adidas Tubular Runner
The Adidas Tubular Runner got its look from 1990’s Tubular OG which had an external pump to inflate the sole. Recently the Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto found some love for the new Tubular sole on his Y-3 models.
The shoe got a neoprene socklike upper with suede overlays, a DUAL DENSITY outsole as such as a welded on overlay at the toe area. The heal cap with laser cut details reminds of the legendary ZX 700. The Adidas Tubular Runner provides a progressive look with modern materials and of course a super comfy outsole.
New Balance 1300 JP (2010)
Here a few quick pics of my latest pickup, the New Balance 1300 JP made in USA. The 1300 JP releases every 5 years since 1995 but only for the Japanese Market. Rumors say that the 2015 version will also be available at selected New Balance retailers around the world. The release is set for January.
Asics Gel Lyte III Allwhite
Somebody at Asics has finally heard my prayers! Since I’m collecting them I was desperately waiting for an all white shoe. The wait is finally over and the outcome couldn’t be any better. Fortunately Asics did choose the Gel Lyte III wich is one of my favorite models from the brand. I can’t really describe it but there is something magical for me when it comes to all white shoes. I still remember the hard time i gave my mother begging her to buy me an all white tennis shoe. I think it was the adidas Stan Smith when I was around 9 years old. Those Stan Smith’ where white for less than 1 hour and i was mad as hell because they lost their shine so quickly. Now in the age of the several impregnate sprays and with the grown-up care for, I’m pretty hopeful they will stay shine for a bit longer. The materials used are a nice smooth leather and the usual nylon tongue and canvas lining known from most of the inline Asics. For some the Asics Gel Lyte III Allwhite might just be a regular white shoe but for me it is the release of the year from general releases and collabs. The release is set for the 1st of December at selected Asics retailers.
