Well here they finally are after the release date got postponed by a week. The Packer “Dirty Buck” is the 2nd pair of twelve Gel Lyte III’s dropping every month in 2015 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the most recognizable Asics silhouette.
Currently residing in New Jersey Packer is a traditional American family business that has its roots back in 1907 when they first were located in Yonkers N.Y.. Known for their high quality hard-bottomed footwear, Packer took their inspiration for the same named “Dirty Buck” leather shoes by using only high quality materials to create a sophisticated piece of formal footwear.
The materials used are a premium suede with Packer branding on the heel such as a smooth leather lining and insoles also branded with the Packer logo. Finished off with a soft red midsole the Packer x Asics Gel Lyte III “Dirty Buck” is pair that perfectly bridges the gap between sportswear and casual footwear and deserves the title “future classic”.
The only thing I have to criticize is that some pairs had mad glue stains and marks on the toebox from the production. But this has nothing to do with Packer but the quality control of Asics that definitely offers room for improvement.
The Pants I’m wearing is the Edwin ED-80 white selvage.
